dropping in. HERE'S THE LATEST NEWS FLASH!! Today, October 01, 2007, it was reported to me
that Blanco has terminated it's Internet Minimum Advertising Policy (IMAP) on
their stainless steel sinks. I am guessing it's because that policy didn't have enough teeth in
it. So what they're doing now is making every person, place or thing
obtain permission from Blanco directly before using any of Blanco's intellectual
property (logos, images and marketing information). If Blanco was not able
to control the web sales before through price fixing and threats of account
closure, this new copyright infringement
approach might just be the ticket. Here's an example, say
you want to sell Blanco Stainless Steel Sinks on your website. First,
you're gonna need Blanco's approval. You have to fill out a form and mail it in.
They're probably gonna look over your website and check you out thoroughly. Then they
will decide whether
or not to let you use their material. They might decide that you are a threat to
one of their other dealers and reject your request. So then you say screw Blanco, and go ahead and
use their copyrighted material on your website anyway. Well, when they
find out about it, and they will find out about it (after they receive your request form you will be on their radar), they will probably initiate a
cease and desist letter through a law firm to scare you off. If that
doesn't work, who knows. Maybe they'll sue - maybe they won't.
Anyway, it is my opinion that intimidation is Blanco's best shot at controlling
those who sell their products on websites. So I still won't be offering Blanco Sinks on
my site. I like Blanco Stainless Steel Sinks - but I believe the
company is poorly managed and completely misguided. Only time will tell. Blanco is
a
world leader with more than 30 million stainless steel sinks produced since

work" said another.
